Automated & Remote Survey Systems

Number of attendees: 43

We would like to invite you for an HSB Workshop that will take place on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the conference room of the Erfgoedpark Batavialand in Lelystad.

This workshop will deal with the current and future developments concerning the automation of the hydrographic processes, as we have done in previous years in collaboration with TUSExpo. This includes survey vessels that perform their duties autonomously or semi-autonomously. A remote survey desk that allows specialists to check the work on board of the vessels from the office when needed.

The preliminary program is as follows:

• 13:00 - 13:45 Reception at the museum

• 13:45 - 14:00 Introduction / welcome

• 14:00 - 15:00 Workshop part 1

  • Ronald van Dijk (SeaDrone) - The Se@Drone Project; a modular build autonomous aquatic drone for (under)water monitoring and inspections
  • Marteyn Blok (Simon Remote Survey/DEEP) - Remote Survey in Practice

• 15:00 - 15:30 Break

• 15:30 - 16:30 Workshop part 2

  • Gerard Kruisheer (Captain AI) - Making Save Autonomous Shipping a Reality
  • Sandra Barchel (Teledyne Caris) - Automated Data Processing

• 16:30 - 17:30 Network drink

In connection with the (logistical) preparation, advance registration is required via the website of the HSB: If you are still unable to attend after registration, you can deregister online.

A workshop is only really possible and complete if there are company stands present. These help to make a workshop (financially) possible. Interested parties can register at the HSB secretariat. The price for a stand is €100.

More information about the location can be found on the Batavialand website: www.batavialand.nl.

There is plenty of parking space near the location. Below is a brief description of the options. More information can also be found on the Batavialand website.

When you have arrived in Lelystad, it is best to follow the Batavia Stad signs. They lead to the parking lot of Batavia Stad where you have the possibility to park. The costs for this parking are €3.00 for the whole day. You also have the option of standing in the VOC garage, the costs of which are €1.20 per hour.

On behalf of the Hydrographic Society Benelux, I hope to see you all on 24 January.

Chairman of the day,

Henk van der Kaaij
